TechFlow news: On January 30, the Hurun Research Institute released the 2026 Hurun Best of the Best—China’s High-Net-Worth Individuals’ Quality-of-Life Report, which states: “The most frequently used information platforms are Xiaohongshu (Little Red Book) and Douyin (TikTok); the most commonly used AI tools are DeepSeek and Doubao; and the top three most-followed financial influencers are Wu Xiaobo Channel, Xiao Lin Shuo, and Ren Zeping.”
61% of surveyed high-net-worth individuals regularly use Xiaohongshu for information gathering—13 percentage points higher than Douyin. Meanwhile, 32% regularly watch WeChat Channels, and 24% regularly watch Bilibili. Eastmoney.com and Zhihu each garnered over 20% user enthusiasm, while Tonghuashun and Wind (WIND) each received 14%.
By age group, over 70% of respondents under age 25 (U25) rely most on Xiaohongshu and Douyin for information; those aged under 40 (U40) and those aged 45 and above prefer WeChat Channels. Professional investment platforms such as Eastmoney.com, Wind, and Tonghuashun primarily attract users under age 35 (U35) and under age 40 (U40).
The top three most-followed financial influencers among high-net-worth individuals are Wu Xiaobo Channel (38%), Xiao Lin Shuo (23%), and Ren Zeping (17%). Notably, the Hurun Research Institute excluded all media platforms owned by Hurun Group—including Hurun Rich List—from this evaluation.
The most frequently used AI assistants among surveyed high-net-worth individuals are DeepSeek and Doubao. By age group: U25 respondents most often use ChatGPT; U30, U35, U40, and U45 respondents most often use DeepSeek; and respondents aged 45 and above most often use Doubao.
