This means algorithmic traders can see market-moving policy announcements a few seconds earlier than the general public, and this time difference of a few seconds could bring huge profits. Truth Social announced on Thursday that it will sell fast access permissions to President Trump's market-related posts to Wall Street institutions.
The platform, held by Trump Media & Technology Group (DJT), has become the president's primary platform for releasing policy decisions. From stocks to oil, the president's posts frequently shake the market.
Trump Media announced the launch of a new data service—a technical interface known as API (Application Programming Interface)—which will be open to institutional clients starting August 1. Other social network platforms also sell similar API access to traders.
The service will provide real-time data for the top 10 accounts on the Truth Social platform and deliver posts to customers within "milliseconds," the company said. Pricing information has not yet been announced.
The company stated that this fast access service will add a new revenue source for Trump Media. This is another example of the president blurring the lines between his business and White House duties.
"The market is already moving with Truth Social posts," Trump Media Group Interim CEO Kevin McGurn said in a statement.
"Truth API provides a direct, authorized, real-time data stream of the platform's most market-influential posts, while advancing our strategy—monetizing proprietary assets through high-margin, sustainable revenue streams," McGurn added.
Wall Street trading desks use algorithms to scan for specific signals and execute trades automatically. Even obtaining information just a few seconds early could mean huge profits for those algorithmic traders.
The accounts with the highest engagement on Truth Social include Trump, FBI Director Kash Patel, and Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
Previously, companies attempted to scrape Truth Social's data, which a spokesperson said violated the platform's terms of service.
The president's posts about Iran and the Strait of Hormuz have shaken the oil market. In Spring 2025, his announcement of tariffs caused the stock market to fall, followed by a post stating some tariffs would be relaxed, which sent the stock market soaring.
CNN investigations found that Trump also endorses specific enterprises on Truth Social—including some companies in which he had just bought shares.
The new data service from Truth Social is the latest case of Trump-related businesses monetizing his White House term. According to FactSet data, Trump holds about 41% of Trump Media's shares through a revocable trust.
It is currently uncertain how this new business will affect the value of the president's holdings in Trump Media. The stock rose 0.6% on Thursday, but has fallen about 27% cumulatively this year.
The president's second term includes a series of unprecedented huge financial gains, sparking criticism over conflicts of interest.
Financial disclosures published earlier this month show that Trump earned over $1 billion from his cryptocurrency business in 2025.
In addition, there is income from his Mar-a-Lago Club, royalties, and licensing fees, totaling tens of millions of dollars.
