BitsLab announced the acquisition of KEKKAI Plugin (a secure browser extension) from Japanese Web3 infrastructure company KEKKAI Labs, renaming it BitsLab Safe.
KEKKAI Labs is a Japanese technical team focused on Web3 security and infrastructure development, long dedicated to providing cryptocurrency users with security services such as transaction protection and phishing detection. Its core product, KEKKAI Plugin, has gained strong user reputation and high adoption rates in Japan and Asian markets, recognized as one of the representative Web3 user security tools in the region.
Through this acquisition, BitsLab will retain KEKKAI Plugin's existing security features and user base while integrating its own technological capabilities in AI-driven security analysis and threat detection to expand functionalities and upgrade the product intelligently.
This integration will enable BitsLab to provide more real-time risk identification and protection during user transactions, further enhancing security experience and defense efficiency at the browser level. It also marks BitsLab’s official expansion from Web3 B2B security services into the consumer-facing C-end security domain, forming a more comprehensive security protection system spanning from underlying infrastructure to end users.

BitsLab Safe: AI-Powered Web3 Security Browser Extension
Following the acquisition, BitsLab has officially rebranded KEKKAI Plugin as BitsLab Safe, planning to build upon the solid foundation of the original product by incorporating BitsLab’s proprietary AI analysis and threat detection technologies to create a smarter Web3 user security protection system.
BitsLab Safe is a free browser security extension designed for everyday users. The extension automatically simulates transaction processes before wallets (e.g., MetaMask) execute them, previews outcomes, and issues warnings when detecting risky contracts or malicious operations, helping users effectively avoid asset loss.
Core features include:
-
Phishing site protection and alerts: Automatically identifies phishing scam websites and blocks user access.
-
Transaction simulation and risk detection: Conducts simulation analysis prior to transaction execution, revealing potential risks in advance.
-
Community-powered security database: Users can actively report scams, enabling real-time updates to risk data and improving overall protection levels.
BitsLab stated that after completing the acquisition and brand integration, BitsLab Safe will become a key component of its AI security ecosystem, delivering more intelligent, real-time, and transparent security protection experiences for Web3 users, contributing to building a decentralized network environment where “everyone can use it with confidence.”
From B2B to B2C: Strategic Expansion of BitsLab’s Security Portfolio
Since its inception, BitsLab has focused on security audits, penetration testing, and vulnerability research as core services, providing professional security solutions to top global Web3 projects across major ecosystems including Sui, Aptos, TON, Linea, BNB Chain, and Solana. To date, BitsLab has delivered security solutions for over 400 projects, audited more than 400,000 lines of code, safeguarded over $8 billion in assets, and served over 2 million Web3 users worldwide.
Beyond standard audits, the BitsLab team has achieved significant results in penetration testing and vulnerability research. The team has won multiple international CTF competitions and discovered numerous critical and high-risk vulnerabilities in major public chains and protocols such as TON, Aptos, Sui, OKX, Nervos, and Cosmos, assisting official teams in remediation efforts and earning industry recognition.
These achievements have further solidified BitsLab’s position as a leading Web3 security technology provider, laying a strong foundation for its expansion into consumer-level security.
The acquisition and rebranding of KEKKAI Plugin as BitsLab Safe signifies BitsLab extending its security capabilities from developers and institutions to everyday users, building an all-encompassing Web3 security protection network—“from code to wallet, from enterprise to individual.”
Empowering a New Era of Web3 Security with AI
BitsLab stated that the launch of BitsLab Safe marks a crucial starting point in its consumer security strategy. The team plans to leverage its proprietary AI security engine to conduct deep learning analysis on Web3 user behavior, transaction data, and risk models, delivering smarter and more precise real-time protection at the browser level.
BitsLab aims to enhance security and trust standards in Web3 through technological innovation.
The release of BitsLab Safe represents a pivotal phase in the company’s expansion from enterprise-grade security to user-level protection.
Going forward, BitsLab will continue deepening the integration of AI and blockchain security technologies, advancing automation and intelligence in risk identification, threat analysis, and attack defense, and building more efficient and transparent security infrastructure.
This strategic move not only provides ordinary users with visualized security feedback during daily transactions but also injects a stronger layer of security trust into the entire Web3 ecosystem. BitsLab believes that only with security as a priority can Web3 achieve true mass adoption and sustainable development.
