WLFI: Proposes using 100% of fees from protocol-owned liquidity for token buybacks and burns
According to an official announcement, the WLFI team posted this morning at 6:46 AM Beijing time that a new governance proposal has gone live, suggesting that all fees generated by WLFI’s protocol-owned liquidity (POL) be used to repurchase WLFI tokens on the open market and permanently burn them. Fees from community or third-party LPs remain unaffected.
Analyst: Jump Crypto to become WLFI’s second market maker after DWF Labs
On-chain analyst Ai Yi (@ai_9684xtpa) reported that the official multisig wallet of the WLFI project transferred 47 WLFI tokens to Jump Crypto as initial testing funds. This marks Jump Crypto as WLFI’s second public market maker, following DWF Labs.
Sonic Labs’ “U.S. Market Expansion and Traditional Finance Adoption” proposal passes vote
As shown on the Snapshot page, Sonic Labs’ key governance proposal regarding “U.S. Market Expansion and Traditional Finance Adoption” passed with 99.99% support. The proposal approves token issuance for a $50 million ETF quota, $100 million Nasdaq PIPE development, and 150 million S tokens for Sonic USA.
The proposal also includes an updated burn mechanism: FeeM transactions will allocate 90% to builders, 5% to validators, and 5% to burning; non-FeeM transactions will split 50% to burning and 50% to validators. Sonic USA will appoint a CEO and establish an office in New York, focusing on institutional adoption and regulatory compliance.

According to Cointelegraph, Solana’s SIMD-0326 Alpenglow proposal has reached quorum and passed voting. The proposal aims to reduce block finality time from 12.8 seconds to 150 milliseconds and currently enjoys 99.6% approval.
BRC20 protocol upgrade: Introduces Ethereum Virtual Machine integration
According to CoinDesk, the Bitcoin token protocol BRC20 announced a major upgrade introducing Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) integration at Bitcoin block 912,690. This upgrade, led by Ordinals developer Best in Slot and BRC20 founder Domo—called BRC2.0—will bring Ethereum-style smart contract functionality to the Bitcoin ecosystem.
Best in Slot CEO Eril Binari Ezerel stated that this upgrade makes the BRC20 protocol Turing-complete, offering users Ethereum-like composability and programmability while preserving Bitcoin’s security and decentralization.
Ethereum’s Holešky testnet to shut down within two weeks
According to the official blog, the Ethereum Foundation announced today that the large public testnet Holešky will be shut down within two weeks after the Fusaka upgrade completes. Since its launch in 2023, the testnet has served as Ethereum’s largest public testing ground, playing a critical role in validator operations and protocol upgrade testing.
The foundation recommends validators and staking service providers migrate to the Hoodi testnet launched in March, while application developers can use the Sepolia testnet for development and testing. After this adjustment, Ethereum’s testnet ecosystem will consist of three networks—Sepolia, Hoodi, and Ephemery—each serving different testing needs.
Binance launches Holoworld (HOLO) Pre-TGE and Booster campaign
According to an official announcement, Binance will launch the Holoworld (HOLO) pre-sale token event on September 2, 2025, at 16:00. Users can prioritize subscription during the event, which operates under an oversubscription model, allowing each user to deposit up to 3 BNB. Additionally, Binance will launch the Holoworld Booster campaign starting September 2, 2025. All users holding at least 61 Binance Alpha points can participate and share 51,200,000 HOLO tokens in rewards.
PeckShieldAlert: August crypto security incidents caused $163 million in losses, a 15% increase from July
According to on-chain analyst PeckShieldAlert, approximately 16 major cryptocurrency security incidents occurred in August 2025, resulting in total losses of $163 million—up 15% from July’s $142 million.
The five largest security incidents were:
A Bitcoin holder lost $91.4 million;
Turkish cryptocurrency exchange BTCTurk suffered $54 million in losses;
ODIN•FUN project lost $7 million;
BetterBank.io lost $5 million;
CrediX Finance lost $4.5 million.
Notably, BTCTurk has now suffered two major security incidents within the past year. Following a $54 million loss in June 2024, its cumulative losses exceed $100 million.
Metaplanet plans to accumulate up to 210,000 bitcoins by 2027, representing 1% of total supply
According to Bitcoinmagazine, Metaplanet announced at a special shareholders’ meeting in Tokyo that it currently holds 20,000 bitcoins and plans to acquire an additional 190,000 bitcoins by 2027 through issuing two classes of perpetual preferred shares (Metaplanet Prefs).
Metaplanet President Simon Gerovich said Japan’s low interest rates provide a cost-effective financing advantage, with the goal of becoming the world’s second-largest Bitcoin holder, trailing only Strategy.
Yunfeng Financial Group and AntChain form strategic partnership, invest in Pharos public chain
According to an official announcement, Yunfeng Financial Group (HKEx) announced today (September 1) a strategic partnership with AntChain and a strategic investment in the Pharos public chain. Leveraging AntChain’s blockchain technology strengths and Yunfeng Financial’s experience in asset management, securities, insurance, and other traditional finance sectors, both parties will jointly advance RWA (real-world asset) tokenization and Web3 initiatives via the high-performance Pharos public chain platform.
