AI girlfriend concept surges—what is Ani, which Musk is once again hyping?
Can you fall in love inside Grok?

As Bitcoin continues to hit new all-time highs, everyone is eagerly anticipating the next "meme season." The market's enthusiasm could ignite at any moment when a viral "golden dog" emerges on-chain.
Last night, Musk announced that SuperGrok subscribers will be able to enable a "companion" feature within Grok.

The golden-dog anime girl in the image above is called Ani, and Papa Musk seems quite fond of her. As of today, he’s still engaging with Twitter content related to Ani:

New tokens tied to this AI-related trend have launched on both Solana and Ethereum. On Solana, although pump.fun's official token began trading at 1 a.m., the real action unfolded around Bonk. Led by @brenthewolf and @solotraderz, Tom followed @solotraderz—the $ANI Twitter community founder—last night, with foreign influencers like Ansem and pow also jumping in. Solana’s $ANI briefly surpassed a $20 million market cap, surging up to 50x from its post-launch low, making it unquestionably the brightest new "golden dog" of the past 24 hours.

In contrast, ETH’s $ANI peaked at just under $1 million in market cap.

Alongside Ani, another companion named Rudi—a red panda—was introduced. Unlike Ani, whose speaking style is gentle and girlfriend-like, Rudi takes on a crude and edgy personality.

Currently, $rudi has a market cap of around $3 million and was also launched via Bonk.

But... if we disable child mode, both Ani and Rudi get pretty wild. For instance, when your intimacy level with Ani reaches a certain point, she reveals a more sensual side:

In Grok’s iOS app, there's an optional character labeled "Coming soon":

All these characters are affiliated verified accounts under @AnimationIncDot on Twitter. From the list shown below, we can see that the unreleased male companion is named "Chad":

Currently, $CHAD has a market cap of approximately $1 million and was also launched via Bonk.

This marks the first time Bonk has completely overtaken pump.fun across an entire trending concept. Beyond $ANI, $rudi, and $CHAD, the Grok "companion" family includes a variant called Bad Rudi—an even ruder version of Rudi. Bad Rudi doesn’t exist as a separate companion; users can toggle Rudi’s style in the Grok settings to decide whether he behaves badly or not:

In @AnimationIncDot’s following list, we also find a character named Kai, potentially another companion. Though not officially verified as an affiliate account, its Twitter handle format matches the others exactly, and it uses a cartoon profile picture.

Interestingly, Rudi was originally named Rudy, but Musk decided to change it to Rudi because Rudy sounded too mild—Rudi is simply too "crude-mouthed," and keeping the name Rudy would be too gentlemanly.

Currently, Twitter activity around Ani and Rudi remains dominant, marking the first time a full trend cycle has been captured entirely by Bonk. Meanwhile, on the pump.fun side, alon’s interactions after $PUMP’s launch remain focused on live streams and a few favored pump.fun ecosystem meme coins—could this be where he mounts his counteroffensive?
Interestingly, the official $Ani token was created using Replit, a vibe coding platform. We’ve previously explored how vibe coding is evolving in the crypto space (see: “Could vibe coding be the next big narrative after AI Agents?”), arguing that vibe coding is highly suited for content creation and could become a key driver for meme ecosystems. Will this increasingly become the standard approach for launching meme coins?

Everything is getting more interesting by the day.
