I. China AI Shockwave: Wall Street Misunderstands Again

Host Mike Allen starts with the most sensitive topic: FT reports China is considering tightening export controls on AI models and semiconductors; the Chinese model Kimi just came out and caused Nvidia's stock price to plummet, with chip stocks falling 18% in a month. What exactly did Wall Street get wrong?

Jensen Huang's answer is crisp and clear. He says the market got it wrong once when DeepSeek came out, and now again. "Good models bring more usage, more usage means selling more Nvidia computers. Need to build more data centers, provide more services, technology will penetrate more industries." He repeatedly emphasizes this logic chain: good models bring good applications, good applications bring growth, growth requires more computing power.

Regarding whether Chinese models like Kimi should be banned, his answer is equally direct: "Of course they should be used, it's smart." He explains that after downloading the model you can fine-tune, enhance, and add guardrails; the model runs in a so-called "harness," the harness is in a "sandbox," the sandbox is safe, with privacy protection, security controls, and access controls. He compares this to an operating system: Linux is open source, millions of people worldwide review it, test it, harden it, so we can trust it. Open source AI models follow the same logic.

He also mentions an easily overlooked point: open models and closed models are not opposed. "The people most likely to upgrade to good models like Anthropic or OpenAI are those already using AI." Free models lower the barrier to trying AI; after users get hands-on, they naturally want better services, and then they will pay closed model vendors. So the more open source models, the greater the opportunity for closed models.

When asked about NVIDIA's sales in China, Jensen Huang gave an answer many didn't expect: "Our sales in China today are approximately zero." He said he has told investors not to expect any revenue from China; if the Chinese government and market welcome them back, that would be "a great honor," but until then, treat sales as zero.

II. Where AI Doomsday Theorists Are Wrong

This is the most intense part of the entire conversation. The host asks: Are some of your peers in the tech industry overhyping the risks of AI?

Jensen Huang's response is blunt. "Warning others is okay, warning with solutions is better, but fabricating facts is absolutely not acceptable." He then pointed out several popular AI panic narratives: "Saying AI will end humanity is complete nonsense. Saying AI will eliminate half of American jobs is complete nonsense. All facts and evidence point to the opposite."

He gave several specific cases to support his argument. The number of radiologists increased by about 20%, because after AI automated scan analysis, doctors could see more patients, and there were too many people needing care, so instead more radiologists were needed. The number of paralegals increased by about 10%, same logic. Manufacturing jobs grew by about 50% in the past few years, because AI data centers need to be built, and chips need to be produced.

"Intuition and common sense will tell you that AI will increase productivity, and increased productivity will create opportunities. Throughout history, technology has made society more efficient, creating more jobs rather than fewer. If not, the US should have only 100,000 jobs now."

He also pointed the finger at AI leaders. "Doomsday theorists spend too much time theorizing science fiction endings, maybe this makes them look smart." When pressed on whether he was talking about certain AI company CEOs, he didn't deny it, but said: "If you want to make the world alert to the incredible capabilities of this technology, that goal has been achieved. We should spend time on how to make the technology safe; this is the responsibility of technology leaders."

The host mentioned that Asia's attitude towards AI is completely different from the US; Jensen Huang is surrounded by fans asking for autographs in Asia. His explanation is thought-provoking: "Maybe it's because doomsday theorists spend too much time fabricating science fiction endings." In Asia, people embrace AI as a tool and opportunity, rather than fearing it as a threat.

III. Chip Industry Needs to Expand 5 to 10 Times, Bubble Unlikely Within Five Years

The host raised a sharp question: Every industrial revolution goes through a bubble; where is the bubble risk for this generation?

Jensen Huang's answer is cautious but clear. "The bubble will come someday, but not today. We are at the very beginning of construction." He gave a time frame: unlikely within five years, between five to ten years depends on the situation. The reason lies in comprehensive constraints on the supply side. "The industry could build faster now, but not enough chips, not enough memory, not enough land, not enough electricity, not even enough construction workers. We are constrained in every direction, every aspect."

This constraint is exactly a good thing, he says. "This constraint holds the system back, giving us ample time to build infrastructure." Demand is strong, but the ability to convert demand into productive supercomputers is delayed because of all these physical limitations. This pushes back the point in time where supply exceeds demand.

More critical is his judgment on the overall scale of the semiconductor industry. "I believe the semiconductor industry needs to expand 5 to 10 times." What about the time span? "The next ten years." This means today's chip industry is still far too small, far from enough to support the construction needs of AI infrastructure.

He explained why this time is different from past semiconductor cycles. "This time is different because this is not demand-driven, not seasonal, not consumer-driven. This is industrial infrastructure-driven." Just as the world needs energy, internet, highways, railways, now we need this layer of intelligent infrastructure called AI, built on top of all existing infrastructure. This layer needs chips.

Regarding the risk of customers going into debt to buy NVIDIA products, he said he is not too worried. "These are excellent companies; they generate massive cash." He specifically mentioned the start of the AI profit flywheel: AI is useful, so AI can make money. Coding Agents are extremely profitable; they do useful work in high-paying jobs, and many companies are willing to pay hundreds of millions of dollars annually to enhance their coding capabilities. "This flywheel has already started."

IV. Token Economics: The Smarter AI Gets, the More Valuable It Becomes

This is the most technically deep part of the entire conversation. The host asks: What makes you confident that tokens will become more profitable?

Jensen Huang's explanation is vivid. "Token is an embedding. It embeds knowledge and intelligence. This number is not static, unlike the constant pi. The intelligence encoded in this number will become smarter over time." When intelligence becomes smarter, it is more useful; more useful means more valuable; more valuable means people are willing to pay more.

He compared the AI industry with the software industry of the past. The past software industry was "capital-light," so software company gross margins were very high. But the software industry in the AI era will become more "capital-heavy," because producing modern software requires machines like the supercomputer in front of him to generate intelligence. Every industry will become more capital-intensive, but the return is incredible intelligence, productivity, and growth.

"We are laying the foundation, building infrastructure; this is the largest-scale industrial infrastructure construction in human history."

Regarding doubts about whether AI has already peaked, his answer is: "Impossible to peak, because AI penetration into society and industries has just begun." He also mentioned that in the past six months alone, $300 billion was invested in venture capital and startups in the US, all of which created new jobs and new companies.

V. Trump, Regulation, and Government Stake

Jensen Huang's evaluation of Trump is surprisingly specific. "He is smart, remembers everything. My god, he really understands numbers." He mentioned Trump is the only president who can remember NVIDIA chip models like H20, H200, Blackwell, and even knows the next generation product is called Rubin.

He recounted his first meeting with Trump: "He said he wants to restore American manufacturing capabilities, wants to re-industrialize America, wants a safe and resilient supply chain, wants to move semiconductor manufacturing back to the US." He said the Fort Worth factory where they are sitting for the interview is the direct result of that conversation.

When asked what mistakes the government should avoid, Jensen Huang rarely showed anxiety. "What I worry about is over-regulation, over-correction." He said some companies hope the government will help formulate regulations favorable to themselves. "I think we should compete openly." He dismissed the comparison of the AI race to a 100-meter sprint as "nonsense": "Whoever reaches the finish line first wins forever? This is nonsense. Ultimate victory depends on whether society uses the technology, unrelated to who invented it. We didn't invent electricity, didn't invent manufacturing, but America applied them faster and with more enthusiasm, so it became the America of today."

The host pressed: If Trump calls asking for equity in Nvidia, what would you say? Jensen Huang's answer was clever: "No need. America already has equity in NVIDIA. We paid $10 billion in taxes last year, will pay more this year. We create massive jobs and taxes. And don't forget, most Americans are in the stock market today; when the stock market rises, everyone benefits."

Regarding whether Anthropic's Mythos model should be open to everyone (currently only open to specific institutions), Jensen Huang's attitude is very clear: "Of course it should be open to everyone." He said it is Anthropic's responsibility to ensure technology safety, just like any software; if vulnerabilities are found, fix them as soon as possible. He mentioned the Mythos jailbreak incident, saying "Everything is fine, you and I are still chatting here."

Regarding the issue of open model companies distilling closed models and then reselling, his attitude is relatively balanced: "Depends on the terms of service. If the service provider is not satisfied, they should contact that company. We have many traditional legal means to handle this." But he emphasized that AI learning from other sources is a basic characteristic of intelligence. "AI must learn from something. Original AI also scraped all existing knowledge on the internet. Now AI-generated content is more than humans; in a few years 99% of content on the internet will be AI-generated. You are already constantly distilling the intelligence of other AI."

VI. Robot ChatGPT Moment and Trillion Agent Era

The host asks: When will the robot ChatGPT moment arrive?

Jensen Huang gave a surprising answer: "The robot ChatGPT moment has already arrived." He explained that the ChatGPT moment is not when AI becomes useful; when ChatGPT came out in 2022 it just made people feel "interesting, surprised." Truly useful came another four years later. Robots are now at that "interesting, surprised" stage. You can tell the robot "put the apple in the drawer," it will reason out the task sequence, including opening the drawer first then putting the apple. "When you first see a mechanical robot truly do these things, it opens your imagination of the future of robots."

As for when it becomes useful, he gave a "three to four years" time frame, and said "I would not be surprised."

Regarding the Agent era, he painted a shocking picture. Today one billion people are using computers, but most of the time computers are idle. In the future everyone will be assisted by massive amounts of Agents; these Agents use computers around the clock. "We will have 100 billion, trillion Agents running around the clock. Intelligent Agents, less intelligent Agents, specialized Agents, super Agents, various Agents running around the clock. So the number of computers we need will grow significantly."

VII. CEO's Kung Fu and Philosophy of Suffering

The conversation finally returned to Jensen Huang personally. The host mentioned he founded NVIDIA at 30, now the company market cap is $5 trillion, but only has 50,000 employees; he said in ten years maybe only 75,000 people, "as small as possible."

Jensen Huang defines the CEO's job as "strategy." "Strategy is using limited resources to achieve future vision as efficiently as possible." He said he started this job at 30, probably the longest-serving CEO in tech history. "This is my craft, this is my kung fu."

Regarding the theory that "suffering and grinding are the key to greatness," he corrected that this has nothing to do with a specific painful event, more like a continuous state. "No great athlete became a great athlete by accident. It is massive practice when no one is watching, massive failure, massive suffering and grinding." He said this grinding improves craft, shapes character, gives people confidence and resilience. "Just like athletes say, when pressure is highest, tension is highest, time seems to slow down. I have the same feeling. This comes from practice, from doing the same thing over and over again."

Asked what he would say to himself when he came to the US at nine years old, his answer was a passionate praise of America: "America is the greatest country in the world, period. Even if we have challenges, have disagreements, but exactly those challenges and disagreements themselves make us great. Through open dialogue, through a vibrant system that allows freedom, freedom of speech, freedom of innovation, freedom of entrepreneurship, freedom of cooperation." He finally said: "This country was built by immigrants, and needs amazing immigrants in the future."

Regarding the habit of not wearing a watch, his explanation is very Jensen Huang: "Because now is the most important time. I refuse to let a schedule manage my life, refuse to let a watch manage my life. If I am late, someone will tell me. Before that, I am one hundred percent here."
