Anoma launches testnet with 3D interactive experience, pioneering Web3 operating system
Anoma's testnet is the first step toward launching the protocol's decentralized operating system. It introduces the intent-centric architecture through a gamified educational experience. Users are invited into a fully explorable 3D environment that intuitively demonstrates how applications and solvers interact within the blockchain network.

Anoma, a decentralized operating system providing a unified application layer for Web3, today launched the initial version of its testnet. The testnet showcases Anoma’s next-generation intent-centric architecture through an interactive educational experience, demonstrating how the network can unify underlying blockchains under a single interface for both users and developers.

"Traditional smart contracts and virtual machines create unnecessary constraints that prevent Web3 applications from competing with Web2," said Adrian Brink, co-founder of Anoma. "The Anoma testnet is the first step in showing how an intent-centric architecture can finally deliver the unified, user-friendly experience Web3 needs. By abstracting infrastructure and eliminating complexity, we enable developers to build a single application that runs across any chain, with the flexibility and usability users expect from Web2."
Anoma plays a role in Web3 similar to how Windows unified the PC environment. The platform addresses blockchain fragmentation, broken composability, and multi-chain complexity by enabling applications to settle on any blockchain based on user intent rather than transactions.
Anoma has formed partnerships with blockchain projects including Celestia, EigenLayer, Near, and RiscZero, and application developers are already building diverse use cases on Anoma's development network—from AI agents and private DeFi to private messaging and decentralized physical infrastructure (DePIN).
Following the testnet, Anoma will begin rolling out mainnet functionality across multiple Layer 1 (L1) and Layer 2 (L2) blockchains. This marks a critical step toward reducing complexity and eliminating platform lock-in, decoupling decentralized applications from blockchains for the first time in Web3. Its architecture represents third-generation blockchain design—shifting from rigid virtual machine systems to flexible, intent-driven networks where applications can freely move across underlying infrastructures. The testnet demonstrates how this approach enables true universal composability in Web3.
Anoma also contrasts sharply with traditional testnet designs through its 3D interface, which visualizes the flow of intents across the Anoma operating system and different blockchain networks, offering users and developers an interactive educational experience. This visual approach provides an engaging way for users to learn how intent-based applications and system interactions work, highlighting how intents seamlessly move across domains. Unlike conventional blockchain testnets focused on technical demonstrations and transaction throughput, Anoma’s testnet prioritizes education and exploration.
"We're taking a new approach to the testnet," said Christopher Goes, co-founder of Anoma. "Instead of incentivizing users to perform repetitive transactions in hopes of an airdrop, we're building an engaging educational world where people can explore how intents operate in a distributed operating system while having fun. The 3D interface provides a visual representation of intent flows across the network, helping users develop an accurate high-level understanding of how the system actually works."
The testnet is now live at testnet.anoma.net, where users can experience Anoma’s architecture in action. Developers are invited to start building on Anoma immediately.
About Anoma
Anoma is a decentralized operating system that provides a unified application layer for all of Web3. With Anoma, developers can write one application that runs on any chain. Anoma frees developers from the complexities of infrastructure, allowing them to focus on what truly matters: building apps and experiences people love. Anoma introduces a next-generation, intent-centric architecture that optimizes application development and user experience, enabling Web3 to support a rich ecosystem of applications capable of competing with Web2 in functionality and user experience.
