Surging 86x, Can TROLL Replicate DOGE's Miracle?
Directional traffic diversion: a prank or marketing?
Author: MIIX Capital
Introduction
On January 14, @lookonchain posted on X that a trader spent $30,000 to purchase 80.77T $TROLL, now worth $2.79 million! This news attracted massive attention and has since been listed on exchanges including BingX, XT, LBank, BitRue, and HTX, with discussions remaining highly active.
It All Began With Elon Musk

On January 9, Elon Musk changed his X profile bio to “(CTO) Chief Troll Officer.” Immediately afterward, DEXTools data showed that the similarly named meme coin $TROLL surged 830.56% in 24 hours, bringing $TROLL back into public view. Many speculated that Elon Musk might be about to trigger a new wave of meme coin marketing.

Subsequent price increases seemed to confirm this speculation. After rising on the 9th, $TROLL began another sharp rally starting January 13, increasing approximately 8,550.18% over the past seven days. The market once again reminds us to recognize the immense influence key opinion leaders—especially Elon Musk—can have on meme coins.
Directed Traffic: Prank or Marketing?

The surge in $TROLL attracted widespread attention, prompting many to visit its official website. However, upon visiting, users see the image above and are redirected to $LARRY’s website, creating the impression that $TROLL has been replaced by $LARRY.

This move left many feeling deceived, as if their enthusiasm and interest were not welcomed by $TROLL. They also perceived that $TROLL's momentum was being diverted. While some turned their attention to $LARRY, for $TROLL holders, this was far from a positive development.
As of writing, over 50 million visits to $LARRY’s site have originated through redirection from the $TROLL website. This has led to confusion about the relationship between $TROLL and $LARRY, resulting in two main theories:
-
This is a prank-style marketing campaign by $TROLL as a meme coin, designed to generate buzz and virality. While it certainly created discussion, the actual spread hasn’t matched the effectiveness of $TROLL’s price surge;
-
$TROLL and $LARRY may have a cooperative or hierarchical relationship, using this strategy to promote $LARRY or engage in mutual marketing—with $LARRY clearly leveraging $TROLL (evident from $LARRY’s posts on X). However, so far, the impact appears limited;
Massive Profits—Just an Isolated Case?
Currently, $TROLL has a market cap of $40.99M and a 24-hour trading volume of around $14.95M, ranking #2289 on CoinMarketCap. To date, the only known individual who has realized significant profits is the trader mentioned at the beginning of this article via @lookonchain. As $TROLL continues to rise, more early investors may achieve substantial returns—but everything remains uncertain and dependent on future market movements.

Additionally, some traders claim they purchased and held $TROLL early on but are still not profitable at current prices. Others believe there may be no real connection between Elon Musk’s bio change and $TROLL—the current hype and price action could stem from market misinterpretation or opportunistic marketing exploiting Musk’s influence. Caution is advised.
Can $TROLL Become the Next Meme Coin Miracle?
With a 7-day gain of 8,550.18%, $TROLL is drawing increasing attention. $LARRY has also gained significant exposure due to its association and alignment with $TROLL’s momentum. However, to date, Elon Musk—the originator of this entire phenomenon—has made no related public statements, shrouding $TROLL’s future in mystery.
If this event proves unrelated to Elon Musk, then the popularity, market performance, and valuation of both $TROLL and $LARRY may not last long and could soon fade from public view. But if the current developments—including Musk’s bio update and the coordinated marketing between $TROLL and $LARRY—are part of a deliberate plan, then leveraging Musk’s influence as a top opinion leader could lead to extraordinary outcomes for $TROLL.
Compared to $DOGE’s journey, what we’re seeing now remains at a very basic level. Amid a new market cycle, should Elon Musk actively participate in promoting $TROLL, it could very well become the next meme coin miracle—the next iconic flagbearer in the industry following $DOGE.
