WebX Tokyo: HashKey Institutional Forum and Hackathon Drive Dual-Track Efforts to Accelerate On-Chain Finance Ecosystem Implementation
HashKey builds a complete On-Chain ecosystem network from the protocol layer to the application layer through the dual-track linkage of institutional forums and developer hackathons.

WebX Tokyo 2026 is one of the largest Web3 summits in Asia, gathering top global blockchain projects, institutional investors, and industry builders annually, serving as a core window to observe frontier trends in the Web3 industry. This year, multiple business lines under HashKey Group attended the summit together and consecutively hosted two high-level side events.
Institutional Forum: The Japanese Narrative of On-Chain Financial Infrastructure
The On-Chain Finance Forum Tokyo, hosted by HashKey, gathered over 100 attendees, including representatives from financial institutions, blockchain projects, institutional investors, and local Web3 practitioners.
Leo Li, CEO of HashKey On-Chain Business Group, delivered the opening address; Rachel Qiu (Head of BD at HashKey Group and COO of HashKey On-Chain) systematically elaborated on the overall path of HashKey On-Chain empowering institutions under the theme "Building On-Chain Financial Infrastructure"; Serena Wang (Head of HSK Eco Labs) focused on "From CeDeFi to the Future," providing an in-depth interpretation of how HashKey Chain redefines on-chain finance; Matthew Dawson, Head of Corporate Partnerships at Ethereum Foundation, took institutional adoption of Ethereum as the theme, providing industry reference for the forum from an external perspective.
The forum also focused on interpreting the newly released HSK 2.0 Whitepaper. The whitepaper systematically elaborated on the core path and technical direction for HashKey Chain to steadily advance institutional-grade on-chain finance.
The Panel session revolved around two core topics of institutional-grade on-chain finance. Panel 1, themed "Bridging RWA and On-Chain Liquidity," invited representatives from Ondo Finance, Asseto, DigiFT, and Compound Foundation to explore new paradigms of institutional finance integrating RWA and on-chain liquidity; Panel 2, themed "The Institutional Yield Stack: Where TradFi Meets On-chain Finance," gathered representatives from Franklin Templeton Japan, OKJ, BitGo, and Babylon, focusing on the practical paths and market opportunities for traditional financial institutions in on-chain yield strategies.
Heads of multiple HashKey business lines also engaged in in-depth exchanges with local Japanese partners and potential clients regarding future cooperation directions, further advancing HashKey's business layout in the Japanese market.
Hackathon Demo Day: On-Chain Practices in AI and DeFi Tracks
The Japan Horizon Hackathon, hosted by HSK Chain and co-organized by FEB Event and AKINDO, also welcomed the final presentation of results after undergoing nearly a month of selection.
Demo Day featured final roadshows and two Panel discussions. Panel 1 focused on whether on-chain finance can become "financial infrastructure that is truly used," exploring key conditions for regulatory compliance, user experience, and institutional collaboration around topics such as stablecoins, bank UX, and public chain implementation; Panel 2 focused on the user boundaries of Web3 products in the AI Agent era, discussing the degree of automation in on-chain execution, user trust mechanisms, and AI-native product design directions. Developers, investment institutions, and ecosystem partners from Japan and across Asia observed the shortlisted team roadshows on-site and engaged in in-depth Q&A regarding technical paths, commercial potential, and ecosystem synergy, laying the foundation for follow-up resource docking and ecosystem support for outstanding projects.
From WebX to the Japanese Market: HashKey's On-Chain Ecosystem Strategy
The consecutive hosting of the two side events marks the further implementation of HashKey Group's strategy to deepen its roots in the Japanese market. As one of the most mature crypto markets globally in terms of compliant regulation, Japan is welcoming a new round of acceleration cycle for institutional-grade Web3 applications. Through the dual-line linkage of institutional forums and developer hackathons, HashKey not only outputs on-chain infrastructure solutions to Japanese traditional financial institutions but also continuously activates the innovative vitality of the local developer community, building a complete On-Chain ecosystem network from the protocol layer to the application layer.
