Bitget's First Web3 Summit "EmpowerX" Recap: Shaping the Future of Web3 with 1,900 Attendees
Bitget's mission is to empower global users in cryptocurrency trading and assist enterprises in realizing the vision of decentralized practical applications.

Bitget hosted its inaugural EmpowerX Summit in Singapore on September 12, bringing together nearly 1,900 attendees for a major Web3 event. During the conference, 247 speakers and partners discussed key topics including the convergence of artificial intelligence and cryptocurrency, institutional investment trends in the crypto industry, innovation in Web3, and the future of the economy.

Venture capitalist Tim Draper delivered a keynote speech that generated significant buzz. He said, "I love what Bitget is doing—bringing Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies to the masses," and emphasized that "great user experience and interface are the biggest draws, which will bring broader audiences into the crypto space."

Haseeb Qureshi, Managing Partner at Dragonfly Capital, shared insights during his keynote, highlighting the explosive growth in on-chain settlements. He revealed, "In 2022, over $110 trillion worth of stablecoins were settled on-chain—an amount greater than Visa's settlement volume. There are 25 million addresses holding more than one dollar, making it equivalent to the fifth-largest bank in the U.S. by user count." This data underscores the widespread adoption of stablecoins and reflects the rapid expansion of the cryptocurrency market.

Gracy Chen, Managing Director of Bitget, opened the event with a speech outlining Bitget’s mission to empower global users in crypto trading and support enterprises in realizing practical decentralized applications.
Following this, industry leaders including TRON DAO founder Justin Sun, Kaito AI founder and CEO Yu Hu, Hack VC Managing Partner Alexander Pack, and Stanford University professor and Shannon Award recipient David Tse participated in an engaging panel discussion exploring the future of artificial intelligence, blockchain, and the internet.
The EmpowerX Summit featured six panel discussions with thought leaders such as Mihailo Bjelic, Co-founder of Polygon; Adeniyi Abiodun, Co-founder of Mysten Labs; Bryan Pellegrino, Co-founder of LayerZero; Alexandre Dreyfus, Founder of Chiliz; Sander Gortjes, Co-founder of Hello Labs; Michael Gronager, Co-founder of Chainalysis; and Sebastien Borget, Co-founder of The Sandbox. Other notable attendees included Carl Hua, Investment Partner and CTO at Shima Capital and Dragonfly Capital, and Tony Cheung, Partner at Foresight Ventures.

Bitget has evolved from a crypto derivatives trading platform into a comprehensive ecosystem. Earlier this year, Bitget invested an additional $30 million in BitKeep, becoming its controlling shareholder. On August 10, BitKeep, the Web3 multi-chain wallet, officially rebranded to Bitget Wallet.
At the summit, Bitget announced the establishment of a $100 million EmpowerX Fund, symbolizing its strong commitment to fostering ecosystem development and building a complete ecosystem offering diverse services to meet the multifaceted needs of users worldwide.
One of the most anticipated highlights of the EmpowerX Summit was the Web3 project pitch session co-hosted with HELLO Labs. Attendees enjoyed a live performance of the Killer Whales reality show, where four competing projects presented their ideas to a judging panel. Lava emerged as the winner. Lava is an open standard for blockchain RPC and APIs designed to simplify the development of Web3 applications using blockchain data while ensuring timeliness and usability.
The global digital asset market is expanding rapidly. As the industry matures and infrastructure improves, digital assets have become an integral part of the global financial system. Bitget continues to expand its business scope, building a comprehensive ecosystem encompassing trading, investing, research, DeFi, and media, while actively driving industry progress.
