Navigating Web3 tides with focused insightsOn September 12, the OKX Ventures Global Horizon: Investing Across the Globe and Ecosystem Meetup, held during TOKEN2049 in Singapore, concluded successfully. Prominent Web3 investment firms including LongHash, Polygon Ventures, Hack VC, Cypher Capital, along with representatives from leading Web3 projects such as Taiko, zkSync, Scroll, and Gitcoin, attended the event.
During the meetup, representatives from investment firms LongHash, Polygon Ventures, Hack VC, and Cypher Capital shared their insights and perspectives on industry cycles. They also joined OKX Ventures in discussing how to more efficiently fund innovation and capture value. According to incomplete statistics, these five investment firms have collectively invested over $50 million in the first half of this year alone, spanning sectors such as Web3 infrastructure and innovative applications. Going forward, they will continue identifying high-potential opportunities and contributing to industry growth.
Dora, founder of OKX Ventures, further remarked at the event that the Web3 industry has been steadily moving toward decentralization and a matrix-like structure. With infrastructure maturing, applications generating real revenue are increasingly emerging. Application-layer projects such as Uniswap, Opensea, Axie Infinity, and dYdX are attracting genuine users and generating tangible income.

Every transaction on this network generates sequencer fees, and the majority of the resulting revenue will be allocated to funding public goods and innovative public goods projects, meeting developers' needs for sustainable income sources.
Omar, Head of Ecosystem Business at zkSync, expressed enthusiasm for L2/L3 projects deploying on zkSync using zk tech stacks. As one of the most promising and rapidly growing Ethereum Layer 2 ecosystems, zkSync will offer modular frameworks free of charge, providing developers with a convenient environment.
Vincent, Developer Relations Lead at Scroll, said that Scroll's original mission is to achieve Ethereum scalability. The team is now fully operating the final pre-mainnet phase—the Sepolia testnet. Real-time data from the past month shows that 230,000 active users have completed 3.4 million on-chain transactions. The team welcomes broader community participation in testing and remains committed to building the developer ecosystem.
David, Head of Ecosystem and Finance at Taiko, invited more developers to join. While maintaining high security, Taiko achieves Ethereum EVM equivalence and offers smooth product interaction, making it highly suitable for Ethereum developers looking to deploy on a second-layer architecture. Interested developers are encouraged to learn more about the Grant Program launched by Taiko DAO.
