On June 14, Beijing time, OKX, a leading global Web3 technology company, successfully hosted an exclusive roundtable with McLaren at the Tribeca Festival.
Titled "The Need for Speed: How Technology is Transforming Sports, Film, and Crypto," the panel was moderated by Emmy-nominated filmmaker and Webby Awards founder Tiffany Shlain. It featured Haider Rafique, Chief Marketing Officer of OKX; Zak Brown, Chief Executive Officer of McLaren Racing; Lando Norris, McLaren Formula 1 driver; and Stephen Kay, director, producer, and screenwriter. The discussion centered on how technology is reshaping industries including sports, entertainment, cryptocurrency, and finance, emphasizing innovation's impact on speed, performance, and efficiency across sectors.
Haider Rafique, Chief Marketing Officer at OKX, said: “In just one year, we’ve achieved so much together. McLaren F1 Team is highly motivated to embrace Web3 and make its legacy and evolution more accessible to younger generations. We aim to play a significant role in helping McLaren realize this vision. The achievements McLaren has made both on and off the track are inspiring the next generation of drivers and fans to engage with the sport. Our goal is to help McLaren leap into the future—together.”
Zak Brown, Chief Executive Officer of McLaren Racing, said: “This panel provided a great opportunity to share the stage with our key partner, OKX, and discuss how technology drives transformation across our respective industries. In Formula 1, we’re constantly looking to leverage innovative technologies to maximize fan engagement. Partners like OKX support us in fulfilling these commitments and guide us in exploring Web3, enhancing fan experiences and making motorsport more accessible.”
In 2023, OKX announced it will continue as the first-ever digital asset partner title sponsor of the Tribeca Festival. This marks the second year of their collaboration, aimed at creating new Web3 opportunities for creators, fans, and talent. Earlier this year, in January, OKX launched the Tribeca Festival NFT Pass.
In May last year, OKX and McLaren Racing announced a long-term partnership, naming OKX as the team’s principal sponsor for both the McLaren F1 race team and the McLaren Shadow esports team, as well as its sole cryptocurrency platform partner. The OKX brand has appeared prominently across McLaren assets, including the MCL36 F1 car, race suits and helmets of star drivers Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo, and team apparel for both the F1 and esports teams.
