Pyth Network: FTX and Alameda have been removed as data publishers; Pythnet is operating normally
To improve reliability, Pyth's data publishers are currently working on deploying priority fees for data publication, ensuring more reliable Pyth price feeds on the Solana mainnet.
Pyth Network has released an operational update via its Twitter account "Pyth Status" regarding recent events:
FTX showed significant discrepancies compared to all other market data, with ETH/USD price differences reaching up to 7% between FTX and other markets. As a result, FTX and Alameda have been removed from the list of data publishers. All data publishers have been notified to avoid referencing market data from FTX.
Due to a large number of positions approaching liquidation prices, creditors paid priority fees to gain preferential on-chain transaction processing, causing network congestion. Recently, the majority of transactions on Solana have used priority fees to accelerate execution, leading to crowded blocks.
Even without using priority fees, Pyth's data publishers continue to perform well, with 87% of price updates on Solana completed within 10 seconds.
To improve reliability, Pyth's data publishers are now actively deploying priority fees for data publishing, ensuring more reliable price feeds on the Solana mainnet. Currently, we have 56 active data publishers submitting quotes normally.
Meanwhile, Pyth Network is also operating on Pythnet—a dedicated application chain. Pythnet employs a new oracle design based on a pull-based data model, which prevents external interference and completely eliminates the impact of gas priority fees.
Pythnet enables Pyth price feeds to be used across multiple blockchains including Aptos, BNB Chain, Ethereum, Optimism, and more.
Currently, 98.8% of Pythnet price feed products deliver updates with latency under 10 seconds, continuing to provide reliable data for all non-Solana-native dApps.
