TechFlow news, September 25 — According to crypto journalist Eleanor Terrett, the White House is considering appointing Jill Sommers, former commissioner of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), and Kyle Hauptman, chairman of the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), as chair of the CFTC.
Both candidates are reportedly seen as crypto-friendly. Sommers worked for 10 years at consulting firm Patomak Global Partners, founded by former U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) commissioner Paul Atkins, with whom she has close ties. Hauptman is the 13th chairman of the NCUA and previously served as a senior vice president at investment bank Jefferies, focusing on U.S. Treasury and futures trading.
