TechFlow news, on September 23, according to Decrypt, 39-year-old Keyron Moore was sentenced to 13 years in prison for kidnapping, torture, and sexual assault committed in 2022 (with three years already served). In the case, the suspect kidnapped a female victim and demanded a $1 million Bitcoin ransom. The victim suffered violent treatment during captivity but eventually managed to escape. Another juvenile accomplice will be sentenced in Oshawa on October 3.
The court also issued a lifetime ban on Moore possessing weapons and required him to register as a sex offender for 20 years.
