TechFlow, September 23 — According to the Financial Times, YZi Labs is considering opening up to external investors in the future. The firm currently focuses on investments in cryptocurrency, AI, and biotechnology, funded primarily by CZ Zhao and early Binance executives. Ella Zhang, head of the firm, said they will consider transitioning into an open fund once the team has accumulated sufficient experience in AI and biotechnology. Previously, YZi Labs accepted $300 million in external investment, which was partially returned.
