TechFlow report, on September 23, Tongling Intermediate People's Court disclosed a case of unjust enrichment dispute arising from virtual currency transactions. Plaintiff Ding placed an order through a platform to purchase 1,300 Tether coins (USDT). After the platform seller confirmed the order, 1,300 USDT were successfully transferred to Ding. However, Ding claimed the payment constituted unjust enrichment and demanded the seller return the funds. After failed negotiations, Ding sued the seller at Zongyang County Court. Ultimately, the court ruled in accordance with law that the USDT transaction was invalid due to violation of public order and good customs, that the loss should be borne by Ding himself, and that such claims are not protected under law, thus dismissing the plaintiff's lawsuit.
