TechFlow news, September 22 — According to the Financial Times, the UK and the US have established a "Future Markets Working Group" aimed at exploring cooperation on capital markets and digital asset regulation.
UK Chancellor Rachel Reeves and US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent reached the agreement following talks on Downing Street last week. The working group will be jointly chaired by officials from the UK and US treasuries, including representatives from regulatory agencies in both countries responsible for capital markets and digital asset oversight.
The group will focus on identifying short- and medium-term collaboration opportunities during the development of digital asset legislation and regulatory frameworks, while working to "reduce the burden on UK and US firms seeking cross-border financing." The working group will deliver a report with recommendations within 180 days.
