TechFlow news, September 20: According to Oriental Daily, Hong Kong police received a report that a 75-year-old local man was defrauded between July and September this year by scammers claiming to be cryptocurrency investment experts who lured him with promises of high returns to invest in Ethereum. The victim made 19 transfers over two months, sending approximately HK$26.2 million worth of cryptocurrency to six virtual accounts. Later, the scammers ceased contact, prompting the victim to report the incident to police on September 11. Police have classified the case as "obtaining property by deception," and no arrests have been made so far.
