TechFlow news, September 19 — According to The Information, OpenAI announced plans to spend $100 billion on backup servers to advance AI breakthroughs. In March this year, OpenAI launched a ChatGPT feature capable of turning photos into animated characters. Due to a surge in usage, the company had to temporarily restrict these features—a situation that has occurred before. Last week, CFO Sarah Friar told investors at a Goldman Sachs conference that due to insufficient computing power, the company has had to regularly delay launches of new features or AI models, or intentionally slow down performance across some products.
