TechFlow, September 18 — According to China Central Television News, Hong Kong police announced today (September 18) that a theft occurred early on the 17th at a gold and jewelry processing workshop in Hung Hom, Hong Kong. All stolen gold, valued at approximately HK$50 million, has been recovered. Police stated that the reporting party and five other friends were resting inside the workshop when around 5 a.m., ten wanted men broke in and seized about 65 kilograms of gold bars, gold bricks, and gold powder, worth roughly HK$50 million, along with approximately HK$30,000 in cash before fleeing. The victim later notified the company’s owner and called the police. Hong Kong police have classified the incident as a burglary. Authorities noted that the mastermind behind the wanted suspects and the reporting party were business partners operating a gold workshop together and shared common business associates. By evening, 11 individuals had been arrested. The case remains under investigation, being handled by the West Kowloon Regional Crime Unit.
