TechFlow news, September 18 — According to Jinshi Data citing Bloomberg, U.S. President Trump's aircraft came dangerously close to a Spirit Airlines passenger plane over New York. On Tuesday local time, the Boeing 747 presidential aircraft carrying Trump and First Lady Melania en route to London was flying over Long Island when air traffic controllers noticed that it and Spirit Airlines Flight 1300 were approaching at similar altitudes with intersecting courses.
After repeated warnings to the Spirit Airlines pilots to alter course went unheeded, controllers issued a stern command: "Turn right immediately by 20 degrees." Recordings show controllers even reprimanded the crew, saying, "Pay attention! Stop staring at your iPad!" Although the two aircraft remained several miles apart at all times—within safe separation limits—the incident sparked widespread attention on social media.
