TechFlow, September 12 — According to Decrypt, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Massachusetts has filed a civil forfeiture complaint seeking to recover approximately $584,700 in Tether (USDT) stablecoins belonging to an Iranian national who provided technology to Iran's military.
The Department of Justice stated that in January 2024, three U.S. service members were killed at a military base in northern Jordan. Subsequent analysis determined that the attack was carried out by an Iranian Shahed drone equipped with the Sepehr navigation system using SDRA. Abedini is charged with providing material support to a foreign terrorist organization resulting in death, as well as conspiring to procure sensitive U.S. technology for military drones.
