TechFlow news, September 12 — According to Decrypt, security firm Mosyle has recently disclosed a cross-platform malware named ModStealer capable of bypassing antivirus detection and specifically targeting browser-based cryptocurrency wallets on Windows, Linux, and macOS systems. The malware spreads by masquerading as job recruitment ads, primarily targeting developers, scanning browser wallet extensions, system credentials, and digital certificates, then transmitting the data to remote servers. On macOS, it disguises itself as a background helper application to achieve automatic execution. Blockchain security experts warn that such attacks could lead to theft of private keys, seed phrases, and exchange API keys, posing a serious threat to the entire cryptocurrency ecosystem.
