TechFlow, September 10 — According to a report by Sina Finance, internet monitoring organization NetBlocks reported that the Red Sea submarine cable has been severed, affecting internet connectivity in multiple countries including India and Pakistan. The cause of the incident remains unclear. Major UAE telecom operators Etisalat and Du are also experiencing similar network issues, possibly resulting in slow connection speeds or intermittent access disruptions.
The report stated that Microsoft Azure issued a statement on September 6, indicating that network traffic latency across the Middle East may increase due to the severed Red Sea submarine cable. However, traffic has been rerouted through backup network paths to ensure uninterrupted services.
