TechFlow, Aug 28 — According to Decrypt, a 35-year-old former cryptocurrency trader was kidnapped and assaulted in Paris. The criminals demanded a ransom of 10,000 euros from the victim's acquaintance in Algeria. The victim was eventually released at 4 a.m. on Wednesday with facial swelling.
Data from security expert Jameson Lopp's database shows that France has recorded 10 crypto-related violent attacks in 2025, accounting for one-third of Europe's total of 29 such incidents. Cybersecurity experts say the actual number could be higher, as many victims choose not to report due to concerns over reputation and safety.
