TechFlow news, on August 27, according to the official account of the Supreme People's Procuratorate, the Supreme People's Court and the Supreme People's Procuratorate ("the two high authorities") released typical cases on the legal punishment of crimes involving concealing or hiding criminal proceeds and gains from crime, accurately identifying such offenses committed through means including virtual currencies. The case of An Moumou et al. concealing or hiding criminal proceeds was included. In this case, three defendants assisted criminals in transferring large amounts of funds via cryptocurrency trading platforms and used funds transferred into bank card accounts to purchase virtual currencies. The total amount defrauded from victims amounted to over 500,000 yuan, constituting serious circumstances. All defendants were sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment and fined.
