TechFlow, August 21 — According to Jinshi Data, Atlanta Fed President Bostic said he still believes there is a possibility of one rate cut this year, consistent with his June forecast, but added that developments in the labor market are "potentially concerning" and warrant close attention. Bostic said on Thursday: "That remains broadly my view. But I must say, in today's environment, every point estimate or outlook comes with a large degree of uncertainty, and I am not wedded to any particular stance." Bostic indicated he would prefer the Fed to maintain a single direction once it begins acting, rather than moving and then reversing course. He described current interest rate levels as "slightly restrictive" and expects policymakers will shift toward a more neutral stance next year.
