TechFlow, August 19 — On-chain investigator ZachXBT questioned Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire's recent statement about "the necessity to cooperate with governments." He pointed out that when dealing with addresses linked to the Lazarus Group, Circle took as long as six months to act, while three other major stablecoin issuers immediately implemented address blacklisting.
Furthermore, when the U.S. Department of Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) requested action on sanctioned Garantex addresses, Circle also failed to respond promptly.
