TechFlow, August 19 — According to ChainWire, Circle has acquired its high-performance BFT consensus engine Malachite to support the launch of Arc, a newly open-sourced Layer-1 blockchain network focused on stablecoin finance, with a testnet expected later this year. Built on the Tendermint algorithm, Malachite features a modular design that enhances performance, reliability, and security, while remaining open-source to foster industry innovation. Some members of the Informal team will join Circle to advance Arc's development, while Informal continues to support other Malachite applications and blockchain technology advancements.
