TechFlow, August 12 — Joint statement from the China-U.S. Stockholm economic and trade talks: One, the United States will continue to adjust the implementation of ad valorem tariffs imposed on Chinese goods (including goods from the Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions) under Executive Order 14257 dated April 2, 2025. Effective August 12, 2025, the 24% tariff will again be suspended for 90 days, while retaining the remaining 10% tariff imposed on these goods under the executive order. Two, China will continue (i) adjusting the implementation of ad valorem tariffs on U.S. goods stipulated in Tariff Commission Announcement No. 4 of 2025, again suspending the 24% tariff for 90 days effective August 12, 2025, while maintaining the remaining 10% tariff on these goods; and (ii) take or maintain necessary measures, in accordance with the Geneva joint statement, to suspend or cancel non-tariff countermeasures against the United States.
