TechFlow, August 12 — According to The Block, the Uniswap Foundation has proposed establishing a new legal entity for its governance body under Wyoming's Decentralized Unincorporated Nonprofit Association (DUNA) framework. The proposal allocates UNI tokens worth $16.5 million to a new entity called DUNI, to cover past tax obligations and legal defense expenses.
Brian Nistler, Legal Counsel at the Uniswap Foundation, said adopting the DUNA framework would enable the activation of the protocol fee switch. The report noted that the new entity does not alter the Uniswap protocol, token, or governance structure, and fee revenues cannot be directly distributed to UNI holders.
