TechFlow news, August 2 — According to Cointelegraph, SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce will launch a ten-city tour this fall as part of the SEC's newly launched cryptocurrency public engagement initiative. The regulator announced on Friday it will host a series of roundtable discussions aimed at gathering input from industry stakeholders, developers, and investors on potential new digital asset regulations under consideration.
"The Crypto Task Force deeply recognizes that any regulatory framework will have far-reaching implications, and we want to ensure our public engagement is as comprehensive as possible," Peirce said in a statement. The agency's Crypto Task Force has a "particular interest" in meeting with crypto startups that have been established for less than two years and have no more than 10 employees. These roundtable discussions will take place between August and December.
Many of the SEC's roundtables held in 2025 received feedback from cryptocurrency institutions such as a16z Crypto and traditional asset managers like BlackRock. In previous roundtable sessions, the Crypto Task Force has discussed topics including crypto regulation, custody, tokenization, and decentralized finance.
