TechFlow News, August 1st: According to the "Panama Playlists" website, the Spotify accounts and playlists of 49 tech celebrities, politicians, and journalists have been leaked. The leaked content reveals the music preferences of several leaders in the cryptocurrency and artificial intelligence fields.
Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong's "Repeat" playlist is particularly notable, featuring the same electronic dance track repeated 60 times. He stated that this helps him maintain focus. His "Favs" playlist primarily includes songs from the musical "Hamilton."
The playlists of the convicted FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried are divided into two categories: one "soft" playlist contains 56 lyrical songs, including Coldplay's "Yellow"; the other "loud" playlist features high-energy tracks from artists like The Killers and Kanye West. Notably, the last song he added at the end of 2021 was The Weeknd's "Save Your Tears."
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman's Shazam playlist showcases a diverse range of musical tastes, from Missy Elliott's "Get Ur Freak On" to Adele's "Make You Feel My Love." Other notable figures, such as a16z founder Marc Andreessen, also appear on the list. His "Go The Fuck To Sleep" playlist mainly features relaxing jazz music.
Currently, several individuals involved, including Oculus founder Palmer Luckey, have confirmed the authenticity of the playlists. The website stated that the leak aims to emulate the 2016 "Panama Papers," revealing the lesser-known music tastes of celebrities.
