TechFlow, August 1 — According to PeckShield disclosure, there were 17 major cryptocurrency security incidents in July 2025, resulting in total losses of $142 million, a 27.2% increase from June's $111.6 million. Notably, the hacker involved in the GMX incident has returned approximately $40.5 million worth of crypto assets.
The top five security incidents in July were: cryptocurrency exchange CoinDCX lost $44.2 million, decentralized exchange GMX lost $42 million (funds recovered), BigONE exchange lost $28 million, WOOX lost $12 million, and Future Protocol lost $4.2 million.
