TechFlow news, July 31 — The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) updated its official website today, stating that with the implementation of the stablecoin issuer regulatory regime under the Stablecoin Ordinance on August 1, 2025, issuing fiat-referenced stablecoins will become a licensed and regulated activity. Accordingly, details of the regulatory framework have been published, including: the licensing system for stablecoin issuers, the regulation of licensed stablecoin issuers, and the register of licensed stablecoin issuers.
It is understood that the register contains the names and basic information of licensed stablecoin issuers, enabling the public to access the latest list of authorized institutions. Currently, there are no licensed stablecoin issuers, and the list will be updated in due course.
