TechFlow news, July 31 — According to Financefeeds, a software engineer at Indian cryptocurrency exchange CoinDCX, Rahul Agarwal, was arrested by Bangalore police over a previous incident involving the theft of crypto assets.
The incident occurred on July 19, when CoinDCX detected a large volume of unauthorized fund withdrawals from its wallet, amounting to $44 million. The investigation revealed that the suspect, Agarwal, had been tricked by a fake freelance recruiter into installing malware on his company-issued laptop, resulting in the theft of his login credentials. He has been charged with criminal offenses including identity theft and breach of trust.
