TechFlow, July 29 — According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Texas, on July 24, the U.S. Department of Justice filed a civil complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas seeking forfeiture of cryptocurrency assets seized by the Dallas FBI in April 2025.
The Dallas FBI seized approximately 20.29 BTC from a cryptocurrency address on April 15, currently valued at over $2.4 million. These assets are allegedly linked to "Hors," a member of the Chaos ransomware group, and connected to illegal activities including money laundering and computer extortion. The group has previously carried out multiple ransomware attacks in the Northern District of Texas and other regions.
