TechFlow, July 25 — According to Jinshi Data, despite EU diplomats recently expressing optimism about an imminent trade deal, Trump stated that the likelihood of the U.S. and Europe reaching an agreement on reducing import tariffs is "only fifty-fifty." Trump said, "I think the chances of a deal are fifty-fifty, maybe even less, but still around fifty percent." Trump added that U.S. and European negotiators are working "closely" to reach an agreement. Earlier this month, Trump released a letter stating that if no deal is reached by August 1, the EU would face punitive tariffs of 30% on most goods, along with sector-specific additional tariffs. Trump also indicated that in the coming days he will unilaterally send more letters setting new tariffs for other countries.
