TechFlow news, July 14 — According to Jinshi Data, after SpaceX prepares to invest $2 billion in xAI, Musk stated that Tesla plans to hold a shareholder vote on whether to invest in xAI. Responding to a post on X, Musk said any decision supporting xAI ultimately cannot be made by him alone. Last year, Musk publicly asked X users whether Tesla should invest $5 billion in xAI, saying at the time he was merely sounding out opinions. However, he noted then that Tesla’s board and supporters would need to approve the move. In April this year, Tesla disclosed that xAI was its customer last year, generating $188.3 million in expenses from commercial, consulting, and support agreements with Tesla. The majority of that transaction ($191 million) involved xAI purchasing Tesla's utility-scale energy storage battery, the Megapack.
