TechFlow, July 14 — According to The Block, new documents from the U.S. Department of Justice reveal that MoonPay CEO Ivan Soto-Wright and CFO Mouna Ammari Siala may have become victims of a fraud case, having transferred over $250,000 in USDT to a Nigerian scammer. The fraudster impersonated Steve Witkoff, co-chair of Trump’s inaugural committee, using a deceptive email address that replaced the uppercase letter "I" with the lowercase "l". DOJ documents indicate the wallet involved has been linked to Ehiremen Aigbokhan from Lagos, Nigeria. Tether has frozen approximately $40,000 worth of USDT so far. As of press time, MoonPay has not responded to the incident.
