TechFlow, July 13 — According to Jinshi Data, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen issued a statement saying the EU has taken note of a letter sent by U.S. President Trump outlining revised tariff rates and a new timeline. The statement said that the U.S. imposition of 30% tariffs on EU exports would undermine critical transatlantic supply chains and harm businesses, consumers, and patients on both sides. It added that globally, few economies match the EU in terms of openness and adherence to fair trade rules. The EU remains committed to resolving differences with the U.S. through negotiations. The statement affirmed the EU's readiness to continue working toward an agreement before August 1, while taking all necessary measures to protect its interests, including proportionate countermeasures if needed. The EU will also continue strengthening global partnerships and firmly uphold rules-based international trade principles.
