TechFlow, July 10 — According to Jinshi Data, U.S. President Trump announced tariffs of 50% on Brazil.
Brazilian President Lula responded in a statement, calling claims of a "trade deficit between the U.S. and Brazil" completely false. Official U.S. statistics show that over the past 15 years, the U.S. has accumulated a trade surplus of $410 billion in goods and services with Brazil. Therefore, any unilateral tariff measures will be met with reciprocal action under Brazil's Commercial Reciprocity Act. Lula emphasized that national sovereignty, mutual respect, and firm protection of the interests of the Brazilian people remain core principles guiding Brazil's international relations.
