TechFlow, July 8 — According to Jinshi Data, Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba stated that no agreement has been reached between Japan and the U.S., as Japan insists on defending its rightful interests. He added that Japan will continue dialogue with the United States to seek a mutually beneficial agreement.
Through previous negotiations with the U.S., Japan successfully avoided tariff increases of 30% to 35%. The U.S. has proposed continuing talks until the new deadline of August 1.
The U.S. announcement of imposing additional tariffs is deeply regrettable. So far, an agreement has not been reached because Japan has engaged in tough negotiations, believing it should not make concessions easily.
