TechFlow, July 7 — According to Ukrainska Pravda, Ukrainian President Zelenskyy signed a decree imposing sanctions on individuals and legal entities that assist Russia in transferring assets via cryptocurrency.
The sanctions target 60 companies, 55 of which are Russian. According to Vladyslav Vlasiuk, Zelenskyy's commissioner for sanctions policy, the sanctioned entities include 19 major cryptocurrency mining companies involved in circumventing sanctions, 17 operators of digital financial asset issuance systems, 19 Russian financial infrastructure companies, and 5 cryptocurrency exchange operators engaged in sanctions evasion.
The list also includes five non-Russian resident companies that have assisted Russia in bypassing restrictions, such as Cyprus-based TOKENTRUST HOLDINGS LIMITED, Kazakhstan’s EXMO RBC LTD, and three companies based in the UAE.
