The ransomware negotiation expert is alleged to have secretly colluded with hackers and taken commissions from ransom payments, severely harming client interests. The company stated the employee "has been immediately terminated" and that the conduct was an isolated incident. The DOJ's investigation focuses on whether the negotiator violated federal laws, including conspiracy, wire fraud, and money laundering. If convicted, the individual faces severe penalties.
