TechFlow news, July 5 — According to Financefeeds, Turkey's Capital Markets Board (CMB) has taken legal action to block 46 cryptocurrency-related websites, including the major decentralized exchange PancakeSwap, citing that these platforms offer "unauthorized crypto asset services" to residents of Turkey.
Since March this year, the CMB has fully regulated crypto asset service providers operating in Turkey by establishing a new licensing and compliance framework. In February, Turkey implemented new rules requiring users to provide identification for crypto transactions exceeding 15,000 Turkish lira (approximately USD 425). While buying and holding cryptocurrencies remains legal in Turkey, the country has banned the use of digital assets for payments since 2021.
