TechFlow news, on July 3, according to MoneyS, KB Kookmin Card applied on July 1 for 35 trademark rights related to stablecoins, including "KBCSTB", "KBCST", and "KBCKRW", becoming the second South Korean credit card company after Shinhan Card to file for stablecoin-related trademarks.
A representative from KB Financial Group stated that the trademark application is part of the group's digital transformation strategy, with concrete initiatives to be launched once relevant laws and regulations are fully established. Analysts suggest that the expanding scope of stablecoin trademark applications by South Korean financial institutions reflects the financial industry's proactive positioning in the digital asset market.
