TechFlow, July 1 - According to Jinshi Data, at an ECB event held in Portugal, Federal Reserve Chair Powell was asked whether "President Trump's frequent personal attacks make his job more difficult." In response, Powell said: "I just focus on doing my job. What matters is using our tools to achieve the goals Congress has given us: maximum employment, price stability, and financial stability. That's where we are 100% focused."
The audience, including European Central Bank President Lagarde, responded with applause. When later asked whether he would remain at the Fed after his term as chair ends next May, Powell said he had nothing to say about that today.
