TechFlow news, June 29 — TIME Magazine released its 2025 list of the "World's 100 Most Influential Companies," and Coinbase has made the cut. TIME wrote: "Since last fall, revenue at Coinbase, the largest cryptocurrency exchange in the United States, has surged past $2 billion. Riding a wave of enthusiasm for crypto following President Trump’s election victory, traders and investors have flocked to the platform. During that election cycle, Coinbase led a major lobbying campaign that helped make cryptocurrency a ballot issue. In May, the company became the first crypto stock to be included in the S&P 500 index and has emerged as a key driver behind the cryptocurrency industry’s policy efforts in Washington, D.C. If favorable legislation passes, Coinbase is poised to become an even larger hub for U.S. crypto activity. However, Coinbase is not without issues: prominent blockchain investigators have accused the company of failing to address security vulnerabilities, resulting in users losing hundreds of millions of dollars annually to scams. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is reportedly investigating whether the company inflated user numbers in past disclosures. Despite this, Coinbase continues to pursue expansion, acquiring Dubai-based cryptocurrency derivatives exchange Deribit in May for $2.9 billion."
